Lena Jonsson


Swedish award winning fiddler Lena Jonsson is one of the most sought after musicians in the folk scene right now. Her ability to balance a deep knowledge of traditional Swedish folk music with innovative artistic sensibilities, sparkling joy of life and charisma of a rockstar have made her one of Sweden’s most visionary artists. She has created a unique style inspired by traditional Swedish music as well as rock, pop and the American old-time and bluegrass traditions.

Together with guitarist Erik Ronström and bassist Krydda Sundström they create a virtuosic yet playful trio. In 2020 they won both a Swedish Grammy and the Manifestprize for their album “Stories from the outside”, it was also awarded Best album by Sweden’s biggest music magazine LIRA and Song of the year by Swedish Radio.

The trio won Artist of the Year at the Folk and World Music awards in Sweden, 2021 and 2022.

The band has already done several international festivals such as Rudolphstadt (Germany), Wellerklaenge (Austria), Shetlands Festival, and Celtic Connection (UK) and many more.
