Martin Almgren is a Swedish singer and songwriter from Lindesberg, known for his powerful and soulful voice. He rose to national fame after winning the Swedish equivalent of American Idol in 2015, and has since built a career rooted in country, soul, and Americana—always driven by honest storytelling.
After releasing his debut album Can’t Hold Me Down and the EP Changing Street (2017), Martin has released multiple singles and reached the final of the Swedish Song Contest in 2018 with A Bitter Lullaby. Between 2019 and 2020, he also appeared in musical theatre, further showcasing his stage presence and vocal depth.
During the pandemic, Martin returned to his roots—both musically and personally. That period of reflection led to the creation of Caught Me On A Bad Day (2025), a heartfelt album blending Nordic melancholy with southern soul and Americana tones. He also spent time in Nashville, writing songs and reconnecting with the heartland of country music.
Martin records in both Stockholm and Lindesberg, collaborating closely with producer Mats Eriksson. Beyond music, he has worked with film narration, visual storytelling, and appeared in live broadcast TV shows.
